| Allow me to whine some more. Feel free to ignore. *snaps*
Please Don't be That person Who misses me Yet never responds To my texts or IMs Because I pushed you away Yet you promised you'd always stay I may have left Xanga and Facebook But you have my number, screenname, address What should I expect from an online friend It is not like we have even met I suppose it is only fair That you would stop and not care I know that I hurt you But it's lonely here Now that you're gone By myself I am Left
^ That actually took more thinking than one might suspect.
This isn't directed towards anyone in particular. Well maybe it is. I dunno. It's frustrating, how easily "friendships" are made and lost. And it's really annoying how certain people only pop out of the woodwork when I'm in a slump or something. Thought friends were supposed to be around all the time. Not that I expect to be hearing from people 24/7, but it seems like I'm always making the effort. That or they just come by to check on me and such when I go away from Xanga or Facebook. Seriously? The people I really consider friends, I talk to outside of Xanga, and I talk to them on good days and bad. The rest? Not sure why I keep them around.
Edit: By the way, how would you even know I need a somebody to lean on if you're never around?
| Well, well, now where did we leave off kids? Oh, coming up to the crooked hurdle? That's right...
*cue dream fade*
Like I said, I was rounding the track and getting ready to make a push for the finish line when I saw that hurdle. I figured I just had to get over it and I would be all set. Well, as you can imagine I didn't quite make it over the hurdle the way I intended.
Now, coaches and experts say, when falling over a hurdle, never extend your arms to brace yourself. Instead, tuck and roll! Me, being the n00b hurdler I am, failed at this. That was my first mistake.
My second mistake? I'm right-handed. I turned, put my weight on my right arm to get up. I then felt said right arm give way as I fell to the track. I then picked up and cradled my right arm with my left, while sitting in the sun trying to keep the sweat out of my eyes and waiting for someone to come help me up. Oh, and I watched two hot girls just looking at me, gimped out on the track. Awesome.
After the race was finished, the hurdles were cleared. By then, someone had noticed that I was still on the track and a group of people swarmed me. All I heard was "yep, it's definitely broken" - oh great. First broken bone. At a track meet. FML.
So the trainer applied an air splint that hurt like heck and I was taxied off the track to the pity clap. They wouldn't even let me walk. I then proceeded to sit in the trainer's office, since my parents couldn't be contacted. Fortunately, one of the coaches decided it was about time to get me to the hospital, so we loaded up in his pickup truck and drove there, bumping along. I get to the hospital, but because the consent form couldn't be found we had to wait for my parents before they could do anything. Nope, they wouldn't even give me a tylenol.
When my parents finally did show up, the hospital staff said they needed to take an X-ray. But first, they had to separate the bones. Now, in your forearm are two bones, the ulna and radius. My bones were broken completely in half and had slid up on each other, in what is known as an overriding fracture. It gives the appearance of a third elbow. So what did the technicians do? They pulled my arm so that the bones would slide off. Let me just say one word. PAIN. Although, I don't recall screaming or anything (I think tears were just body reaction) probably because of shock, or the fact that the technicians were pretty cute =P
Well, once they finally got their X-rays (which were lost - I wanted copies) they said that I needed surgery. However, no surgeon was available then. So what did they do? They splinted me up, and sent me home with both bones still broken. I kid you not.
Long story short, the next day I was in the hospital again to get 2 plates and 13 screws. Oh and some pretty awesome drugs. This hardware was later removed and I still have it. So that's the story of my awesome scars.
End Part II
Fin
P.S. - No, the bones never broke the skin. Nor does my arm feel funny when the weather changes. It dues however, hurt when under a lot of stress aka when I work out.

| So, earlier today I was browsing through my subscriptions and came across a post by pawnshop_heart detailing why it would be both good and bad to date her. Well, I decided to make my own list! Please note, by date I really mean go steady.
Pros: 1. I like to workout. I may not be huge and built, but I can guarantee you that if you mention that I'm putting on some pounds, I'm gonna hit the gym ASAP!
2. I don't care about your past. As long as you love and are faithful to me, I couldn't really care less about how many guys you've hooked up with, if you have a kid, or if you're a fugitive etc. (well, I do care a bit about some of those >_> ). Just leave the baggage at the door and we're good to go.
3. I will support you. If you need to vent, need a verbal (or physical) punching bag, I'll be here for you, anytime. Actually, this applies to most of my friends too. Just don't abuse the privilege please.
4. Gender roles? Forget them! I'll cook, clean, and otherwise help out around the home. While I do feel the need to be manly and take care of my significant other, it doesn't mean I won't also support her in her endeavors.
5. I'm truthful. I find it very hard to lie. Not that I don't, but honestly, if you asked me, you could probably get every little dirty secret out of me - if you know how to ask that is
6. Forget supermodels. I'm very accepting of people. Not initially, but I don't care if you don't look like Megan Fox, or if you're not a
7. I love to give. I would sacrifice so very much for the right people. And for my significant other? Well, I would move heaven and earth for her. That movie line, "you make me want to be a better man" - yeah, I would quit drinking, leave my old life behind and change for her. Not just because of her, but it does help to have some motivation.
8. I can be extremely patient. Usually I'm not, because most people don't deserve my patience (seriously, some people just like to push my buttons). However, if I care, I will stay up all night for a person (it's been done - usually when tutoring friends for math exams the next day haha).
9. I have never had a girlfriend. I don't come with baggage, or bad habits. Plus, that means I'll try that much harder to please you.
10. I'm great in bed. 'Nuff said.
And now for the deal-breakers:
1. I drink. A lot. That leads to...
2. Depression. Not directly caused by the aforementioned, but certainly exacerbated. I can be quite the downer at times, and a pain in the butt to put up with.
3. I also have a tendency to get attached very easily. Clingy. I need a lot of support/love.
4. My past is dark, secretive, and full of many regrets. Also, lots of stuff that most people would be horrified to hear. No joke, I'm not all warm and fuzzy inside.
5. I'm... eccentric. I have a lot of quirks that would probably weird most people out. OCD is the just start of it.
6. My maturity level does not match my age. This is usually exhibited in...
7. Anger management problems. Yeah, I like to break stuff when I get upset. I'm working on it.
8. I get extremely lazy sometimes, and just lounge about. Attractive, I know.
9. It's hard to get me out of my comfort zone. I'm not much fun.
10. I have never had a girlfriend. Yeah, that usually scares them away pretty fast.
So there are ten pros and ten cons to dating me. If any of you ladies still feel up to the challenge, by all means hit me up =P
| That you saw. So a lot of people that meet me always ask about the scar on my right arm. I'm not gonna lie, it's a pretty gnarly scar. And to make things better, I have a similar scar on the opposite side of my arm (this one is not as visible and has healed smoother than the first). Well, since everyone's been asking, I decided to share my story with you all.
It was back in 19 tickity two... or was it in 'Nam? Dang, my Agent Orange is acting up. Ah, now I remember. The year was 2002, my sophomore year in high school... *dream fade*
So during my sophomore year of high school I broke out of my shell. I signed up for all sorts of clubs and started participating in sports; swimming in the winter and track in the spring. Marching band already had my soul during the fall, and my parents wouldn't let me run cross country on top of that. So sad. I digress.
Initially when I joined the track team, I had wanted to pole vault. After trying that once I decided I wanted to live past high school and switched to hurdles, while running the occasional deuce (two mile) just for kicks. Now, this was back in high school, when I was short, not very strong, and overall just plain clumsy. When running hurdles, I ran regular sneakers (spikes are expensive!) and had to five-step the 110m hurdles. I wasn't very fast, but heck, it was something to do and there weren't very many of us. Eventually I became proficient enough (ha) to start racing in the meets.
Despite being slow and all, I was still able to run the hurdles fairly decently. I usually wasn't in the first (read - fast) heat, but that didn't matter. I was on the team! I would usually run both the 110m and 300m hurdles. Occasionally, I would get tripped up and spill, usually on the 110m (high) hurdles, but I was always able to recover and finish the race, as embarrassing as that is.
Towards the end of the season, we had a meet at home. It was a warm day in April I believe, and the sun was out beating on us. Alas, the time came for my race. 300m hurdles. I really wanted to do well and get a PR that day. The gun rang and off we went. I recall running around the bend and seeing this hurdle, set up completely lopsided and offset - crooked in two directions. Even so, I told myself that after that crooked hurdle, I would kick it hard and sprint towards the finish line. What happened next, no one could have predicted...
Oh my, look at the time! I'm gonna have to wrap this one up tomorrow kiddies. 'Til then!
End Part I =P

| Edit: So far, two participants. C'mon people, you know how this works. It's no fun for anyone if more people don't join in. Besides, I'm offering as prizes, Xanga premium (depending on how many credits I'm able to rack up will determine the amounts).
Xanga! You have spoken! And I, your benevolent dicta... kiiin... er, blogger, have listened! So here are some ground rules for the Xanga Commercial Contest!
1. Three categories a) Xanga b) Personal Xanga site (yours or another's - please get permission before advertising someone else's!) c) Commercial of your choice! Make it creative, but please keep it (somewhat) clean! You ladies advertising your services can send me a private message later
2. Videos should be the length of a regular commercial. I'm thinking about 30 seconds, please nothing longer than a minute! Put as much time into these as you like - I'm hoping we get some really neat videos here, and I know a lot of you are pros when it comes to video editing and such. Also, bonus points if you include another Xangan or introduce your friends to Xanga while making your video!
3. Please upload your videos to Youtube so that they can be embedded elsewhere. If you don't have a Youtube account, get one =]
4. All video submissions will be due by 2359 30 NOV 2009 (aka before December hits). This should give everyone sufficient time to make a quality video, edit it, and what not. You also have the luxury of using Thanksgiving break to work on your video.
5. Once all video submissions have been received, there will be a one week voting process. Every Xangan may cast a for a video in each of the three categories. There will be one celebrity guest judge, who will be voting as well; this person's vote will be weighted 3x. The celebrity guest judge will be announced at a later date (yes, I already have one picked out).
That about does it. Questions, comments, concerns? Then let's get started! Oh, and please message me so I can add your name to a list of participants (and what category you're doing - or do all three!)
Edit: Participants include the following
